Pretty great game honestly. I do wish I could play it on a larger display than the small box that you get when downloading it from itch.

so sick

when you find the final cat you can walk out of bounds from the entrance (web version)

Thanks for reporting it!

nice game but i don't know why someone would use sword

Haha, yeah, sword is buggy and unbalanced, but I am one of those who prefer playing with the sword, it gives me more fun when using it right with dash ability.

ok  but i still prefere to use shooty shooty stuff                         maby i shloud say throwy throwy

This is a very well put together game jam game! The pallete and sprites changing with the number keys was a really nice touch, and the controls were easy to pick up. I also liked the ability to keep  doing runs while keeping powerups. The only complaint I had was that the sword's limited range made it very hard to use as it required to get close to other enemies, and its active frames are long enough that the enemy is able to get a hit in. Other than that, there are a few bugs where when I completed the room, the gates didn't open, as well as enemies getting stuck on corners making them easy targets.

All in all, a very great game with a few bugs that can easily be ironed out!

Thanks for that review and for playing the game. We hope to have some time to fix those bugs you mention for a better experience..

Loved the fact that you could change between many pallets.

Also loved the artstyle and presentation of this.

However, there is a lot to nitpick here. The sword, if i am to be honest, feels useless in comparison to the shuriken. Which feels as overpowered as spamming hadouken in a street fighter game.

The procedural level generation is great and all, but at times this lead to some bugs. Like the enemies getting stuck in the gate and neither taking any damage or doing any damage.

Also, the dash while not slippery, feel awkward for some reason. I can't put my finger on it but, sometimes it feels like you are not stopping at the intended place or intended distance that the earlier dashes taught you about.

However, the music is great and the overall level designs are also pretty fun and challenging.

So great work. This is not my favorite game of this jam but i can see how so many people can love it and the developer truly deserves this praise.

Really nice and fun. Any chance for a downloadable version of the game ?

Source code is in the description! Otherwise you can download it through the Itch desktop app :D

I will add downloadable version (win, mac and linux) after the jam voting finishes (can't do it right now)

nice game! maybe add more life and maybe consider also use awsd as controls

hades? more like "id rather play-'dese" kind of games.

kunai? more like "who am i?" because now that nekosama is in my memory place, everything else will have to be reassesed with this game as the yardstick.

nekosama? more like "fun". amirite?

Nice & fun.
